STOPKA, GM. KORONOWO, POW. BYDGOSKI

An erratic boulder, a crystalline rock, 170 cm long, 150 cm wide and 55 cm high.
In the upper part a visible groove in the shape of a footprint (shoe), finely polished. According to tradition, this is the imprint of the foot of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary traveled the world to remind people of God's laws and commandments. She also visited a poor hut near Koronov, where a mother with a sick child received her. The Mother of God healed the child, and also appeared to the father of the family, who was a local robber, on a stone by the road. When the robbers mocked her preaching she stomped her foot, which made a mark in the boulder. The robbers fell terrified to Mary's feet, repenting and pledging to live an honest life.
