About the Author

Dr. Lukasz Miechowicz - archaeologist, assistant professor at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Graduate of the Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw. He is engaged in the archaeology of the Middle Ages and modern period, methodology of archaeological research and documentation of monuments, especially the so-called new technologies. Head of the archaeological mission in Chodlik IAE PAN - www.chodlik.edu.pl.

In 2010 he was awarded the POLITYKA weekly science prize, in 2013 and 2017 he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (care of historical monuments), in 2014 he received a National Geographic Traveler "Ticket to the Future" grant to follow in the footsteps of Zygmunt Gloger and research rivers and river valleys. He is the author of more than a dozen scientific items(https://iaepan.academia.edu/LukaszMiechowicz). Outside Poland, he has conducted research in the Russian Federation and Ukraine, and participates in excavations in Kuwait and Greece.

Social Guardian of Monuments of Opole County (Lublin Province). Awarded the gold badge "For Care of Monuments" by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2023.
