POND UJAZDOWSKI KOLONIAGM. NIELISZ, POW. ZAMOJSKI

According to local beliefs, a spring with water with healing properties. The tradition of its worship dates back to the 19th century (it probably has an older metric). The water was said to be particularly effective for rheumatic diseases. Sick people drank it and washed their sick places, bathing in a small pool. Clothes were left around the spring and the body of water, which were worn by the sick, believing that the disease was left with them. New clothes were dressed after soaking them in the water flowing from the spring.

Until 1915, the place was associated with the belief in the miraculous power of the spring. In 1915 the first chapel dedicated to St. John was erected. The current one was built in 1997.

The spring juts out from the slope of the valley of the "Werbka" stream. Once a water floodplain, today a swampy area. The place is waterlogged, overgrown with reeds, difficult to access. At the time of the documentation work, the construction of a new chapel on the higher ground began. According to locals, the origins of the cult and belief in the healing power of the spring have roots unrelated to the Christian denomination, a change that occurred in 1915 when clergy began to take part in the practice.
