GREDELE KOLONIA, GM. ORLA, POW. BIELSKI

GREDELE KOLONIA, GM. ORLA, POW. BIELSKI

Between the wars, one of the Gredele villagers named Gabriel had a dream in which he heard a voice telling him to go to a nearby forest. According to the dream vision, in the indicated place he was to see a spring, then wash and drink water from it and he would be healed of a serious illness. This is what happened, and as a token of gratitude the healer erected a cross, while the spring itself was boarded up. In 1947-1948 the villagers built a chapel while the spring was captured by a well casing. In 1993, a larger chapel was built. Services are celebrated here on St. George's Day (May 6), Icon of Our Lady of Kazan (November 4) and the third day of St. Trinity. The place is commonly referred to as "Krynochka."
