ZAWYKI, GM. SURAZ, POW. WHITEHOSTOCKI
"Miraculous spring" with water believed to have healing properties located next to a wooden chapel in a charming area called "Kurhan". According to legend, the Borun Icon of the Mother of God was abandoned in this place by the Swedes, after removing the silver orifice. The icon was being transported from Borun in Lithuania to Zawyk, but at some point the oxen pulling the cart refused to obey. A spring now covered by a well broke out at the spot where the image was found.
