JODŁÓWKA, GM. PRUCHNIK, POW. JAROSŁAWSKI

The spring covered by a well in the brick chapel. Part of the Marian Shrine in Jodlowka at the top of the hump "Mary's Mountain".

According to local tradition, the spring has healing powers. Legend tell that in 1680 an adder stung a local child. The distraught widow, the child's mother, ran with hope to a nearby spring, over which hung an image of the Virgin Mary. She washed the child's face with water and prayed before the image. The child recovered. The image was said to have been brought and hung over the spring by soldiers returning from fighting in Ukraine.
It was originally supposed to be in the Herburt castle in Dobromil. There are numerous written testimonies of healings in the church. The oldest dates back to 1724. According to the parish chronicle, about 200 healings have taken place here since 1991.
